NFN is een wetenschappelijk onderzoek naar ouderschap anno nu onder gescheiden en niet-gescheiden gezinnen. Het onderzoek wordt gedaan door de Universiteit Utrecht en het Centraal Bureau voor de Statistiek (CBS). NFN wordt gefinancierd door de Nederlandse Organisatie voor Wetenschappelijk Onderzoek (NWO) en de Universiteit Utrecht.

De informatie op deze website gaat over de eerste 2 metingen van Nieuwe Families in Nederland, die hebben plaatsgevonden in 2012/2013 en 2015/2016. Voor informatie over de derde meting in 2020: zie www.cbs.nl/families.
